I get all of my video games at GameStop / EBGames. I know the games cost a little more than I'd pay on Half.com, usually, but I appreciate the ability to inspect the used games for quality ahead of time. I also sell back games despite the net loss because it's a sure thing (as opposed to selling on Half.com, where they might never sell) and I can generally write it off as cheaper than renting. I have also had universally pleasant interactions with their staff at both the locations in my old home town. The staff were always knowledgeable and eager to help me make a good purchasing decision. I've seen them stop in the middle of checking somebody out and say, "That game looks fun, but it is not. You don't want to buy that game." (I've scoped out my local GameStop here in LA but have not yet patronized it... so who knows if the customer service will translate.)
But apparently a lot of people on the intarwebs don't like GameStop. So a shift manager has written a sort of rebuttal / users guide for the store. It has some really interesting and useful information in it such as the unadvertised 7-day trial period for used games. If you ever shop at GameStop, you should give it a read.
