It's officially Wednesday, Oct. 30 here on the West Coast. Tomorrow is the day before the start of NaNoWriMo. I'm starting to get a little anxious. There are so many projects that I have on the table. And even though I haven't been actively working on them--full disclosure: I spent the weekend playing FFXII--I'm the kind of person who constantly thinks about the projects that I'm not working on rather than the one that I am. Unless I'm really focused on my current project.
So I think that'll be my only hope. I have to spend the next month being super focused on writing this novel. It's only 1700 words per day. I just have to stay focused. If I fall even a day behind, I know I'll start to be discouraged... 3400 is a much bigger number than 1700. And I don't think that using the weekends to catch up is a winning proposition at all.
Man oh man.
I hope my novel doesn't suck.

You gotta relax! :-)
Only way it'll happen - and definitely don't be too worried about it sucking - you just want to go through the exercise of putting words on paper, and you will find it to be a tremendously educational and rewarding experience.
Oh - and remember Thanksgiving is at the end of the month, so you have to plan ahead :-) I dealt with that through several 7000+ word days, which are definitely cool...glad I type fast.
